Beliefs

We believe there is only one true God. He is eternal and creator of all.

     Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 19:1, Psalm 90:2

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin. While on earth, He was both human and deity. Jesus came to this earth and took upon His shoulders the sins of the entire world. In doing so, He made possible for mankind to be reconciled with God.

      Matthew 1:23, Philippians 2:5-8, Romans 5:10, John 3:17

We believe the Bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God. The Bible is true and without error. The Bible is the only source and standard to be used both in religious matters as well as how one should live their life.

      2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1: 20-21

We believe for a person to be forgiven of past sins, one must hear the Word, believe, repent, confess, and be immersed in water. It is unnecessary to baptize infants.

      Romans 10: 17, John 8:24, Luke 13:3, Romans 10:10, Acts 2:38

We believe after one is scripturally baptized the Lord adds them to His church.

      Acts 2:47

We believe the Holy Spirit is given to a baptized believer to help the Christian through life. This gift is not given for miraculous purposes such as in visions or ability to speak in tongues or the ability to heal someone. The Holy Spirit speaks today only through God’s word.

      John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 13:8, 2 Timothy 1:14, Hebrews 1:1-2

We believe the primary work of the church is to evangelize the lost, edify the saved, and love the brethren.

      Matthew 28:18, Ephesians 4:12, Romans 12:10

We believe the Word of God outlines the design of true worship. Worship is to be focused on God and done in spirit and truth. (John 4:24) Mechanical instruments, hand clapping, and special singing such as solos, choirs, etc. are not authorized in worship. (Colossians 3:16-17, Ephesians 5:19, 1 Corinthians 14:15, 1 Corinthians 14:40) The Lord’s Supper is to be observed each first day of the week. (Acts 20:7)

We believe God’s word has clearly defined the roles of men and women in the church. Women are not authorized to hold a leading role in the church. (1 Timothy 2:12) Only men are to fill the role of elders and deacons. (1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9) We believe the elders have the biblical authority to shepherd, guard, and feed the flock. (Acts 20:28-31, 1 Peter 5:2-3)

We believe God designed marriage to be between one man and one woman for life. God hates divorce and so do we. We believe the only scriptural cause for divorce is sexual immorality (adultery, fornication), and only the innocent party has the scriptural right to remarry. We believe if one remarries outside of the boundaries set forth in God’s Word, they and the person they marry are living in an adulterous marriage. Divorce can be forgiven if the person is willing to repent and come out of the unscriptural marriage.

      Genesis 2:22-24, Malachi 2:16, Matthew 19:7-9, Matthew 5:31-32, 1 Corinthians          6:9, Hebrews 13:4

We believe all Christians should attend and participate in all worship services if at all possible.

      Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 6:33

We believe the church is authorized to support local mission works as well as global efforts. We believe the church is to encourage and support orphan homes, and various other benevolent work out of to oversee all benevolent work.

      James 1:27, Matthew 25:34-46, Acts 2:44-45, Philippians 2:3-4, Galatians 6:10

We believe in sound biblical preaching and teaching. Teaching from the pulpit and classrooms will always be done in a way that pleases God. We believe truth should be taught in love but presenting the entire truth in hope of promotion godly living.

      Acts 20:27, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Ephesians 4:15, 2 Corinthians 7:1,        Titus 2:11-12

We believe when Christ returns, He will not set up an earthly kingdom. The earth and everything in it will be destroyed with fire.

      1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 2 Peter 3:10-12
